Spoon is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas with a wide underground following. The band was formed in 1994 by lead singer/guitarist Britt Danieland drummer Jim Eno. Members *Britt Daniel (vocals, guitar) *Jim Eno (drums) *Rob Pope (bass, backing vocals) *Eric Harvey (keyboard, guitar, percussion, backing vocals) Former Members *Joshua Zarbo (bass, backing vocals) After releasing their debut LP Telefono on Matador Records, the band signed with Elektra Records in 1998, but the contract was dropped soon after the band released A Series of Sneaks. In response to being dropped, Spoon released a two-song EP titled The Agony of Laffitte, referring to Elektra A&R man Ron Laffitte, and were eventually signed to Merge Records. Spoon has been met with widespread critical acclaim.
